Welcome to Outduction

Good afternoon everyone,

I'd like to write this blog both about my Outduction Intern Experience (OIE) and about my Final Year Experiences (FYE).

A bit about myself: I'm a Final Year BSc Technology Management Student at University of Bradford. I'm involved in Ecoversity Project (Making Uni more sustainable), I play in Uni Volleyball Team, I enjoy cooking and reading books. Also, I'm passionate about dancing and football.

OIE

Today was the first meeting with Outduction Team. I felt Ruth and Peter were friendly and supportive, they explained what are the aims and objectives of the projects. There were 5 Interns including me, and I find all of us are ready to co-operate and to contribute to Outduction progress.

I wish there were regular meetings for us, so we could report our actions, results and ideas, because effective communication is the key to success. I hope we will use NING for our discussions to fill the gap with virtual information exchange. Also I belive will find a time when most of us can attend.

FYE

My Final Year Project (FYP). My FYP supervisor is a bit busy, so I find it difficult to arrange a meeting with him to review my project. Actually, I still don't know if my chosen topic is suitable for BSc FYP in terms of complexity, depth and appropriateness to the subject I'm studying. It's Week 7 already and it scares me. My draft topic is Decision Making for Health and Safety. I want to research how do companies interpret term "reasonably practicable" and develop decision making model in Health and Safety area, which would help H&S officers and advisors in companies, or managers, to analyse situation and implement best practices.

I find it a bit tricky to manage my time, because I'm fully loaded with things I have to do, but I feel happy about it. I know, that I will manage this things and I will dedicate sufficient time to all my commitments.

That's all for now.

Ta!
